CHILD PSYCHOLOGIST IN BERWYN & THE MAIN LINE | ONLINE ACROSS PA, CA, & PSYPACT-ELIGIBLE STATES

Every child & teen deserves a space that’s held just for them.

Helping your child embrace their true potential.

You’d give anything to help your child feel truly confident.

Maybe your child is acting out and misbehaving more than usual. They’re constantly overwhelmed, especially when it comes to schoolwork. It’s like there isn’t enough time in the day to finish everything, and the pressure is really getting to them.

You’ve started to notice your teen doesn’t come out of their room as much. When they do, it’s often with an attitude that’s creating tension in your home, and conversations often end in slammed doors or silent treatments. When you try to talk to them, they either shut you out or insist that “everything’s fine,” but their mood tells a different story.

Watching your child struggle is breaking your heart. You wish you could help them realize they have so much to offer and so much good ahead of them, but how? It feels like everything you do doesn’t even make a difference, even though, more than anything, you just want them to be happy. Right now it’s hard to know where else to turn.

Signs your child or teen may be struggling:

Teens

  • Withdrawing socially

  • Struggling to make or keep friends

  • Feeling isolated

  • Hiding OCD symptoms from peers

  • Stress about college admissions

  • Pressure to meet parental expectations

Children

  • Avoiding school

  • Tummy aches, feeling unwell, headaches

  • Crying, sadness

  • Won't sleep alone

  • Negative self-talk like "I'm bad," "I suck," and "I can't do this"

Children truly listen once they feel listened to.

My Approach

Sometimes doing what’s best for your child means getting some extra help.

I like to work closely with both you and your child, creating a supportive environment where everyone can feel involved. I know tweens and teens crave their independence, and I respect that, too, so your level of involvement will depend on their age and comfort level.

Building a strong connection with children and teens is key—it’s what allows them to eventually feel comfortable opening up about their thoughts and feelings. I’ll take the time to do this, connecting over things that interest them and always moving at their pace. Helping them understand how their emotions tie into their behavior is a big part of what we do, and I make sure to tailor each session to their unique needs and where they are developmentally.

I’m here for you.

I specialize in helping kids and teens with issues like anxiety, social anxiety, perfectionism, fear of failure, OCD, and depression. When you pile these kinds of struggles on top of school and academic pressures, friendships, or big transitions like moving to a new school or preparing for college, it’s understandably overwhelming. They need support, I’m here for them—and you—through it all.

In therapy, I’ll help your child learn how to identify and express their emotions in a healthy way, process their thoughts, and begin to move away from negative thought patterns. I use a variety of methods and therapeutic approaches depending on what your child needs. As we work together, they’ll learn to navigate the ups and downs of life and work towards a happier, healthier future.

FAQS

Frequently asked questions

  • I’m a big believer in having you be part of the process. With respect for your child’s own privacy, we’ll find a balance that works for your family like check-ins with you as the parent, opportunities for them to try what they’ve learned, and help with what they’re struggling with.

  • This can vary from person to person. In general, we’ll start with weekly sessions to help your child or teen move forward from what they’re struggling with. I believe in taking things at their pace and providing an environment that doesn’t make them feel any type of pressure.

  • I work directly one-on-one with children as young as 6 years old. For children 5 years old and under who are struggling with different challenges, I provide support through parenting appointments instead of individual child sessions.

  • If your child or teen is showing persistent changes in mood or behavior, withdrawing from activities they once enjoyed, changes in sleep or appetite, and excessive fear or worry, there might be a need for professional help.

  • I use a variety of methods based on what your child or teen needs, but I draw from SPACE, CBT, ACT, and ERP.

Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE): An approach that helps parents reduce their child's anxiety by altering their own responses.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT): Therapy focused on accepting thoughts and committing to value-driven actions.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Therapy that changes negative thought patterns and behaviors.

Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP): Therapy that involves gradual exposure to fears without engaging in compulsive behaviors.
